what exactly is Daughter?
We are a collection of writers and artists who wish to express our own vastness within our creations. We publish thrice weekly— including but not limited to short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, op-editorials, media reviews, artist interviews, and examinations on culture. We are based on the concept that women and girls can’t be defined by the digestible online identities that are used to commodify us. Daughters lie in the depths of their artwork, between the lines of their poetry, and their desire to tell stories that have yet to be told.
Daughter publishes thrice weekly on our Online Blog. We also print a monthly zine that gravitates toward distinct "feminine" archetypes, brought under the spotlight and inspected by our small volunteer staff of contributors. You can purchase #1 ANARCHIST on our Etsy.
We also publish a bulkier bi-yearly publication, curated around themes much more esoteric and invasive. Digital versions of VOL. 1 — DEVOTION & VOL. 2 — METAMORPHOSIS can be purchased on our Gumroad store.
